Present
The chosen site has a flat, sandy bottom, on a base of pebbles, which is fairly featureless. During the initial site survey minimal marine life was sighted. Those creatures that were spotted included occasional scallops, razor clams, brittle stars and a single small cuttlefish.

The nutrients in the water of the English Channel simply wash over the currently flat seabed and only that which settles can be used by the local ecosystem.
