Damage
The impact of a Type 42 Destroyer landing on the chosen area of seabed will cause some damage.
Approximately 330 square metres of seabed will be permanently covered by the footprint of the ship.
A wider area will temporarily be affected by silting caused by the impact of the ship with the seabed. However, this is unlikely to be greater than the damage done on a daily basis through the action of tides and current.
